Water Wells

Experts in Water Well Drilling and Pump Installation

A water well is a structure created by digging, drilling, or boring into the ground to access groundwater. Wells are used to extract water for drinking, irrigation, and other purposes. They can vary in depth and construction methods, depending on the location and the amount of water needed.

Modern day techniques use drilled wells with boreholes that range in size from 5" to 30" and depths from 30' to 400'+.

Historically there are several types of water wells, including:

  1. Dug Wells: These are shallow wells dug by hand or with machinery. They are usually lined with stones, bricks, or concrete to prevent collapse.

  2. Drilled Wells: These are deeper wells created using drilling rigs. They can reach hundreds of feet below the surface and are often lined with metal or plastic pipes.

  3. Driven Wells: These are constructed by driving a small-diameter pipe into the ground. They are typically used for shallow water sources.
