Experts in Water Well Drilling and Pump Installation

Key Points Before Drilling:

Prior to drilling the following should be evaluated and clearly understood. The cost and feasibility, site selection and finally an outline of the drilling process.

•Cost: Water well systems are expensive and may not make economic sense if you have access to a public water source. Using high volumes of water for livestock or crop irrigation in commercial scale operations may make you a good candidate for a well even with access to public water.

•Site selection: Selecting a drilling site will be performed based on availability and evaluation of existing wells in the area. The site selection will account for setbacks, easements and sources of contamination like septic systems.

•Well drilling and pump installation: The depth of the well and screen placement will be dependent on the soil formation found during the drilling process. Submersible pump size, pressure tank size, and electrical requirements will be evaluated based on both pressure and volume needs.

•Water quality testing: Water quality testing should be performed for all water wells intended for human consumption. Contact a third party for water quality solutions.

•Well Maintenance: Water wells require regular maintenance including annual chlorination, inspection of the well and surrounding area to assure surface water drainage moves away from the well head, and inspection of the pump operation for water hammer and short cycling

•Common Problems with New or Existing Wells: Decrease water flow or pressure, water quality issues, sediment in the water and contamination.
